30.09.2016

Thursday 29 September, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and Incitec Pivot Limited Chairman Paul Brasher dedicated the completion of construction of the Dyno Nobel $850 million ammonia plant.

“Today’s ceremony marks an important milestone for our world-scale ammonia plant in Waggaman, Louisiana,” Paul Brasher said. “This plant is a transformational event for our Dyno Nobel business in the U.S. and for our company. It is the first ammonia plant to have been built in the state in over 25 years and we could not have achieved this without the support and engagement of the State of Louisiana, Louisiana Economic Development, Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission, Jefferson Parish and the Waggaman Community.”

Final commissioning is taking place at the plant which has a name plate capacity of 800,000 metric tons of ammonia per year.

The ammonia production facility utilizes state-of-the-art technology, and upon completion will rank among the most-efficient ammonia plants in the world today. Additionally, the plant incorporates the latest control technologies to produce the lowest air pollution of any ammonia facility to date.
