IPL’s commitment to sustainability recognised

04.02.2022

Incitec Pivot Limited’s (IPL) commitment to sustainability has again been recognised, with inclusion in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2022.

IPL was selected for inclusion in the Yearbook after ranking in the top 15 per cent of industry peers and achieving a S&P Global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) score within 30 per cent of the industry’s top performing company.

IPL Managing Director & CEO Jeanne Johns said: “We’re delighted to be included in this year’s S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022 alongside the world’s best performing companies.

“At IPL we are placing an increased focus on operating sustainably across our global company as we care for our people, our communities and the environment,” Ms Johns said.

The inclusion follows IPL’s participation in S&P Global’s Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) which examines a range of governance, environmental and social issues. More than 7,500 companies across 61 industries were assessed and only 716 companies with top scores made it into the 2022 Yearbook.

“Over the past year we have made significant progress on our sustainability agenda, including making an important step change in our climate change strategy and commitments,” Ms Johns said.

“We have increased our commitments to decarbonisation, including setting an Ambition to be Net Zero by 2050 or sooner if practicable, and we set out our pathway in our first stand-alone Climate Change Report which we released in November 2021.

“We continue to approach our social, environmental and governance responsibilities with determination and transparency,” Ms Johns said.
