The purpose of our Indigenous Employment Strategy is to lay down a much needed critical pathway to guide the organisation in building on our investment of working in partnership with Indigenous Australians. It aims to improve employment outcomes and contribute in a meaningful way to closing the gap on social disparity between Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a significant place in the past, present and future of Australia as the acknowledged First Peoples of this land. In recognition of the importance of Indigenous people and culture within Australia, IPL’s vision for this strategy is to become known among Indigenous communities as a leader in providing meaningful employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
The Indigenous Employment is a business imperative in the IPL journey towards becoming a better business, because embracing diversity is an important and integral step in becoming that smarter, better business.
