The sustainability of Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) has once again been recognised with inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for 2024.
IPL was selected for the Yearbook after ranking in the top 15 per cent of industry peers and achieving an S&P Global 2023 Corporate Sustainability Assessment, or CSA Score, within 30 per cent of the industry’s top performing company.
Formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, IPL has been admitted to the S&P Global index every year since 2010.
IPL CEO & Managing Director Mauro Neves said: “We’re very pleased to once again be among the world’s best performing companies and receive this recognition for our commitment to operating sustainably,” Mr Neves said.
“Across our global operations, our teams work hard to deliver sustainable growth and shareholder returns while caring for our people, our communities and our environment.”
During 2023, IPL further embedded sustainable practices across the operations of our two industry leading business, Dyno Nobel and Incitec Pivot Fertilisers.
Mr Neves said IPL’s sustainability strategy, including its management of climate change related issues, would continue to be a key focus into 2024.
“We will continue to invest in innovation to operate more sustainably, support our customers on their decarbonisation journey, and meet our ESG goals, including our ambition to be Net Zero by 2050 or sooner if practical.”
Mr Neves said a number of decarbonisation projects were being progressed across IPL which together provide a pathway to a potential 42% operational GHG reduction by 2030 and are backed by a $100-$120 million sustainability capital investment to 2030.
S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook for 2024 is based on the 2023 Corporate Sustainability Assessment which spanned 62 industries and assessed 9,400 companies.
