Incitec Pivot recognised in 2022 Global Gender-Equality Index

Jan 27, 2022

Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) has once again been selected for the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), which distinguishes companies committed to advancing gender equality.

Announced this week, it is the fourth year running that IPL has been included in the global index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting.

The GEI measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. This year the index included 418 companies across 45 countries.

IPL Managing Director & CEO Jeanne Johns said: “We’re proud to have earned our place in this year’s Gender Equality Index which is a reflection of our hard work and commitment to gender equality across our global business.

“At IPL gender diversity remains above industry averages within our major regions and over the past year we have seen increases in female representation at the Board and Executive levels. We are also working to build a diverse talent pipeline in management and professional roles,” Ms Johns said.

“Diversity really is our strength and creating a more inclusive workplace where everyone has opportunities makes us a stronger company and a more enjoyable place to work.

“Over the coming year we will continue to make diversity, equity and inclusion a core priority at IPL.”

Recognising IPL’s inclusion, Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club said: “We are proud to recognise Incitec Pivot Limited and the other 417 companies included in the 2022 GEI for their commitment to transparency and setting a new standard in gender-related data reporting.

“Even though the threshold for inclusion in the GEI has risen, the member list continues to grow. This is a testament that more companies are working to improve upon their gender-related metrics, fostering more opportunity for diverse talent to succeed in their organisations.”

IPL submitted a social survey created by Bloomberg, in collaboration with subject matter experts globally. Those included on this year’s index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies.
